Life is an adventure.
Having ADHD makes it harder.
Coaching can help.
Hi. I'm John.
The idea behind Adventures with ADHD is straightforward. Anything that is worthy of being called an "adventure" is going to involve adversity. Adventures involve ups and downs, unexpected setbacks, and triumphs both big and small. The success of any adventure is directly related to how prepared you are, what skills and tools you are able to leverage, and whether or not you have companions to help.

Those of us with ADHD know how maddening it can be to navigate life's challenges while trying to accommodate our often paradoxical brains. One minute you're effortlessly crafting a brilliant solution to a problem that has flummoxed everyone else. The next minute you find yourself paralyzed by something seemingly simple, watching those around you overcome it with relative ease. You can find yourself frustrated and unable to continue because you don't understand why you have to work so hard at certain things. You can find yourself embarrassed or ashamed, feeling like a burden to yourself and those around you. Sound familiar?

Coaching can help! It provides an opportunity for clients to share their goals and to discuss the ways in which their ADHD might be getting in the way. Sessions focus on understanding what is important for the client and why it is important. Coaches then work with clients to uncover concrete, realistic and viable steps the client can take to achieve their goals. People with ADHD can have a difficult time prioritizing themselves and their own growth. Coaching provides clients the dedicated time and permission to work on themselves and make improvements to their quality of life.

My goal as a coach is to work with my clients to help them better understand the unique way that their brain handles things. Armed with that understanding, we will work together to determine strategies and develop skills meant to best combat the challenges presented by your ADHD. At the same time we'll work on discovering and appreciating your unique strengths, learning how to best utilize them in order to make your life less difficult and more rewarding. If a better understanding of yourself and what you're capable of is something you would like to explore, I'd love to talk with you and learn more about your journey! Click here to schedule a free 30-minute introductory call and see if we're a good fit.
